How to do/Steps of doing Sarvangasana

  1. To practice this asana, first lie down on the back by laying a mat.
  2. When you lie down, put both your legs together and keep the whole body straight.
  3. Now breathe in and out slowly and lift the legs upwards.
  4. In this activity, first raise the legs up, then the waist, after that, lift the top of your chest up.
  5. To support your waist, support your waist by bending your elbow at the waist.
  6. Take your elbows to close. Keep the hands with the back, support the shoulders. While pressing the elbows on the ground and keeping the hands at the waist, keep your waist and legs straight. The entire weight of the body should be on the upper part of your shoulders and hands, not on your head and neck.
  7. Keep your feet straight and strong. Keep the heel of your foot as high as you want to touch the ceiling. Bring your feet in the nose. Pay attention to your neck, do not press it to the ground. Keep your neck strong and shrink its muscles. Cover your chest with chin. If you feel the tension in the neck, then move out of the posture.
  8. In this state, you have to breathe in and out normally.
  9. Keep breathing deeply and stay in the posture for 30-60 seconds.
  10. To come out of the posture, gently bring the knees near the forehead. Keep your hands on the floor. Slowly bring the waist down without lifting the head. Take your feet to the ground. Rest for at least 60 seconds.
  11. Perform this kriya 3 to 4 times.
